Goodbye Middle Earth

Today was a grey day. The world seems dead right now. Its February, the trees are bare, and there is always a fog sitting woefully around in the morning. Since I had President's Day off I worked on my master project and then played Lord of the Rings Online for about 7 hours. Middle Earth has always been a cheerful escape but recently it has become destructive. I have networked with some of the most incredible people on that game and made some fast e-friends but having the game constantly calling me was eating my soul. I deleted it.

This picture sums it all up. I painted it Saturday afternoon and it was the first outdoor painting I had done since October.

wow, that is a great painting kuyler. It really just feels like a wet saturday. The reeds/grasses are fantastic. My only wish is that the main bush was a little more off center. The top right edge of the bush is great, it really pushes the background into the distance.

Ash likes it too.

I know how you feel, Kuyler. The pain of leaving a world like that behind will eventually fade. In the end, you will feel better because of it.

You knew we'd look. Might even check in now and then to see if that sketch you were working on this morning ends up posted...ahem.

Your profile has us wondering why we aren't all BFFs. U2? My Neighbor Totoro? Omnivore's Dilemma? Rarely find anyone who has even heard of those last two, let alone LOVE them.
